Katimavik is a neighbourhood located in Kanata South Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is one of the original communities in Kanata and was created as a way to join two areas in the City of Kanata together. The community was named “Katimavik” in 1972 by 12-year-old Kanata resident Corinne Friesen, which means “Gathering Place”.
